INTERVIEW; RTL.de VIP Interview Translation - tokio hotel interview

First of all I’d like to congratulate you on your MTV EMA that you won with Tokio Hotel this year. How hard was it to get this far?
Erm well, I believe it was definitely harder than people might realise. I think, to many it was just erm… everything about our career went pretty fast. Erm, however, if you’re the one doing it all, you actually know that there’s definitely much more work behind it than some people might believe and, and that success is definitely not something that just happens to you at all. Well… I’m also not somebody that rests on it. Meaning, I could never sit down and really relax and say `Hey, the first three years went so well, you can be on holiday for a year now. That’s not what I’m like at all. I’m more someone that already thinks about what’s next and really keeps going and, and [who] is quite ambitious. Therefore, it was already… It is… There are always obstacles being put in one’s way. Every day. By lots of people everywhere.
Erm, I think you’ve got a pretty great dubbing voice. How much speech coaching was needed in advance or did you even get speech coaching?
I’ve had erm, basically kind of a coach at, at the recording studio. Meaning there’s erm, erm… there were a few people that have been doing it professionally for years already. However, I’ve relatively erm… Well, I didn’t practise anything in advance. While dubbing it somehow really was [more like] us… that I received some advise and so on then. And there wasn’t necessarily any coaching needed. Well, I’m also, erm… Yes, I’ve also been kind of rather doubtful, right? Meaning, I think, erm, also of course by no means am I as good as to how professional people are doing it, but I’ve got to say the second part was a bit easier for me than the first one.
And how was that? Do you have an explanation for that?
I think one just gathered a bit of experience, yes? Meaning that there have always been things when I remembered what it was like in the first part and what you’ve got to pay attention to and erm… Therefore the second part was a bit easier.
Last year you’ve had to have vocal chord surgery. Has your voice completely recovered again now or do you still have problems when you’re talking for such a long time, being in a studio all day long?
Nope, well actually I’ve never had any problems after that again. Meaning it’s really like that one has to bide the healing process of course and everything is like before when this is over and done with. Erm, however, one is just never, erm, safe from it. Meaning, it can always just happen again. That means even if my voice is great now, it’s still possible that this happens again of course. Like a singer or also as a presenter or everybody who works with their voice a lot, somehow [all] have to deal with it a lot of course and are also prone to it. So therefore erm… *reaching to side* Where is there any wood? *looking around to find something wooden to knock on but not finding anything* Unfortunately there isn’t any [wood] but hopefully it won’t happen again.
Erm, could you imagine to also be standing in front of a camera once? For a cinema production?
Erm, I could imagine it. Definitely. Well, I think it’s, erm, just a matter of the part. If it’s the right part and erm, like the right people, then I’d do it, yes. Definitely.
Well, I’m thinking that you, erm, have got all kinds of resemblance with the animated character “Arthur”.
Ok.
Have you also discovered any similarities?
Yes, definitely! Like, when I was watching it or when I saw the character for the first time, I was immediately, erm, erm… Yes, I somehow totally fell in love with the whole film and it really was like I was definitely thinking `Ok, if anybody is able to dub this character, then, erm, it’s me somehow.` It just goes really well. So therefore, there really are associations.
Yes. Female fans are constantly going crazy when you turn up somewhere. Erm, do they even still stand a chance with you or is there already someone by your side?
Unfortunately there is nobody by my side, no. Well, erm, [there] hasn’t been for the past five years unfortunately. I think that really is the only thing that really erm… Well yes, [that] also has never been a big deal somehow. I’d also really like to tell something different for once. Meaning, for once I’d also like to say that it would be different. Unfortunately [it] hasn’t happened to me. I haven’t fallen in love.
Do you have a certain type of woman or aren’t you specific [about it]?
Well, I actually really believe in love at first sight. Meaning I still believe that it’s really like that, if you see the right one and then, erm, you just immediately know it and erm… It just hasn’t happened to me yet. Well, I think the hair colour or something like that wouldn’t be crucial in that case.
Erm, you’re so super slim – how do you keep fit? Do you somehow have some sports routine that you’re doing or…?
Unfortunately I’m not doing any sports at all. Well, now I’ve absolutely got to erm… Actually I’m always intending to go on the treadmill prior to every tour. Just for stamina’s sake, yes? And now, we’re, erm, are somehow playing quite a big tour again next year. And erm, everything will be quite elaborate. We’ve got a big production with a huge stage and that’ll involve quite a bit [of execise]. Therefore I’m intending to go on the treadmill again. Just to get in better shape and to really make it through and not somehow be lying in the corner after the first song already. But otherwise I’m not doing any sports. I don’t play football, I don’t work out anywhere or I’m not running. I really sit in front of the sofa at home and… *shrugging* … watch TV. [nb He probably meant to say “sit on the sofa” and “in front of the TV” and got a bit muddled up ]
Probably good genes.
Yes.
Erm, how long do you take for your styling in the mornings when you’re standing in front of the mirror? After all it always looks quite time-consuming with you.
Well, actually it’s a total routine for me. Like… By now it really doesn’t take long at all. Well, actually with showering and getting up in the morning and waking up it all adds up to an hour maybe.
Do you have a styling role model?
I’ve never really had that. I think, certainly one always gets a bit influenced by all the things happening around us. However, it’s never actually been a case of me having just like one, erm, person, no. There have just always been like different bands, musicians and people that I liked but I’ve never really had one role model in particular.
It’s Christmas in a month’s time already. Erm, how are you going to spend the Christmas holiday this year?
I’m hoping just like the past years. Well, actually it has always been important to me that I’m really together with my family and it… I always hope, erm, that there’ll also be good food and erm, I’m actually rather loving this whole Christmas, Christmas time. The thing is that I’ve been a vegetarian for one and a half years now and therefore the duck has been called off again this year. Erm, otherwise I used to love this. Like, duck and red cabbage and potatoes and things like that and erm… That’s actually like the best about Christmas. Meaning, good food, be together with your family and to just spend a relaxing time.
Why did you decide to live vegetarian?
With me it totally was just out of love of animals. Well, Tom and I, we’ve got four dogs at home that also somehow all of them… We’ve rescued all of them from, erm… from an animal shelter and so on. And yes, for me it just was love of animals eventually. I thought `Ok, if there’s another way and everybody has got the possibility to [do this] nowadays, then, erm, one just does it.` Although one has got to say that really all those substitute products, erm, they’re just… they really just don’t taste that great. Meaning, I know where people that like to eat meat are coming from. I was an absolute fan of fast food and really loved to eat meat. So for me it really wasn’t a matter of taste but really only just… love of animals.

On one of the regular days at exactly 4 p.m. we received call from the TH management. We were asking for interview with the guys for a while now, but they were busy shooting the video. But now they had a few free minutes to talk to us on the phone. All four guys were together but as always Bill spoke the most:
Bravo: Hello! At first we would like to congratulate you on Humanoid becoming Gold in Russia. Are you satisfied with the results?
Bill: We just found out about it. We are very happy, because we’ve put so much love, hard work, so much emotions and stress into this album – so it is always great when fans really like what we’ve done.
Bravo: Was there are difficulties in the process of producing this album?
Bill
: As all creative processes production of the album is always a hard work. We would like to express our gratitude to a lot of people, who supported us during this time. Our friends, family, colleges- they are all influenced us one way or another. Album turned out to be very lyrical(I am sure it is not what Bill meant but it what in the magazine).
Bravo: How did your feelings change about your music and about yourself in the last four years?: We were so green (as inexperienced). We thought that it is so easy to turn world around. All we need is just work very hard. Although, we still think the same. At the beginning we were making goals that we thought we will achieve one day. Some of them are still waiting to be reached. And about changes, we were able to leave Europe (as become successful beyond Europe). We started small and now we are playing huge stadiums. It is amazing feeling.
Bill
Bravo: Do you think that you have already written your best song?: hmmm… Honestly we have a lot of good songs about everything in the world, but we are sincerely hope that our best song is not written yet…
Bill and Tom
Bravo: Nowadays a lot of bands openly talking about politics, peace, war… For example latests albums of ‘30 Seconds to Mars’ or ‘My Chemical Romance’ are about that. Have you ever thought about writing song-manifest?
Bill
: Very interesting question! I think that it is great idea to try to open people’s eyes about the world around them with your music. Music exists to influence people. I like the idea that music can move somebody to actions. That somebody would go and try to change the world into the better place. It is possible that we will write song like this one day. It’s very possible.
*questions about Twilight. Bill likes it and would like to play a vampire one day*
Bravo: We promised (to someone) that we will tell you about one present. Fans from website kaulitz.org have planted gectar of the forest in your name. How do you like that idea?: What? Planted a forest?
Bravo: It’s cool isn’t it?
Tom
: Stop, the whole gectar of a forest?
Bravo: Yes, real forest.
Tom (unsure)
Bill (addressing to the band): Guys did you hear that? It unbelievable! (Exited discussion on the other end) “Tokio Hotel forest” (Bill is trying the name out) It’s fantastic! It’s great idea! Nobody gave us that kind of present before. I am happy that there are people who care about environment.
Bravo: You are coming to Russia soon. What would you like to say to your Russian fans.: I am hoping to see you on our shows! It is real pleasure to play for you. Please come!
Bill

Did Tom Kaulitz hit a girl?

Did Tom Kaulitz hit a girl? Now there is a new video from the gas station in Hamburg which shows what really happened in the night of April 15 between Tom Kaulitz and his fan. Gabby Funk tells us the details:
These are blurry cam-shots. We can see Tom Kaulitz arriving in his sport car. Right after that 2 girls are coming closer to the car. One of them is Perrine from France, who is allegedly asking Tom for his autograph. Then it looks like a cigarette is thrown out of the car. Perrine lifts it and pushes it on the car window. After that, the 20 year old musician gets out of his car. What happened after that tells us Perrine’s lawyer, even tho we can’t see it clearly on the video.
Perrine’s Lawyer: He didn’t just hit her, he also boxed her when she was laying defenseless on the ground.
Tom the bully, Perrine the helpless victim? Tokio Hotel don’t see it this way. For long months, Perrine & her friends who call themselves “Afghanes on tour” chased Tom and his brother. We can see on the video, that right after this happened, they didn’t went away from his car. David Jost said after this accident in April : “these girls weren’t fans, but dangerous stalkers, it has nothing to do with being a fan. Tom and also no other band member would never do anything to a fan”. Tom Kaulitz allegedly has to go to court because of this. But there’s also another option.
Perrine’s Lawyer: I talked with Tom Kaulitz’s lawyer and by now we agreed on 2000€ damagemoney.
Tokio Hotel didn’t want to say anything to the video or this case today morning.

08.12.09 McDonald’s Happy Meal Germany – Arthur 2 DVD Bill Interview

Bill: Hey, this is Bill from Tokio Hotel and I’m synchronizing the bravely Arthur in “Arthur and the Minimoys 2 – The Return of the Evil M” again.
Bill: Aaaaaaaaah! Was that loud enough?!
Bill: Of course I was excited again and yeah, it’s still something new for me and I’m not that experienced like in singing, but of course I’ve been glad. Well, when I saw the movie I felt like at home of course.
Max: Cheers! To your brilliant appearance!
Bill: Max, I don’t have time for a drink now, I’ve got a message! Selenia is in big danger!
Bill: Arthur has been waiting the whole time to travel to the minimoys and of course he’s totally excited, because he got that grain of rice with the letters “Help” on it and of course he thought “Selenia, oh my god, what happens to her now?” and he wants to go as soon as possible to the minimoys and he couldn’t hardly ever await.
Bill: Yeah, today is the 10th Moon, the minimoys are celebrating a festival in my honour.
Woman: The mini… the mini-what?!
Bill: The minimoys are tiny figures, which you can’t see with the naked eye.
Max: I love this city!
Bill: They live in a world that is actually also our world, but we don’t notice.
Yeah. What do you want?
Beta: Hello, it’s me, Beta, the prince, the brother of Selenia. Ring any bells?
Oh Beta, what are you doing there outside? You’re such a funnyman!
Bill: What I also really like, are those scenes, which happening in the meantime. When they fly with a lady beetle…
Bill: Wow! This can’t be more difficult than flying a mosquito.
Bill: All those things, which wouldn’t work in reality but which are converted really cute in the movie.
Beta: How does such a rat look like?
Arthur: Just as this! Aaaaaaaahhh!
Bill: In moments like this you also wish that you’re able to experience something like this sometime. Like sleeping in a flower, flying with a lady beetle or something like that. And for me, those are the most beautiful scenes in the movie.
Max: Absolutely!
Bill: Get ready for something now! I say you: It’s gonna be wicked!

Stalker news 09.12.09 RTL Punkt 12

Giant trouble for Tom Kaulitz! According to RTL-Information the prosecution has brought charges against him. The 20-year-old Tokio-Hotel-guitarist is alleged to beat a girl up. Gabi Funk with the whole story:
With her lawyer, the French girl Perrine, visited the putative crime scene again, a gas station in Hamburg. There was the incident, for which Tom from Tokio Hotel has to stand trial soon.
Perrine: He parked his car exactly here and he hit me there.
Lawyer: An evidence is especially the video, which shows clearly, no ifs, no buts, that Tom had hit her at least once, when Perrine stood and it also shows as clearly that Perrine also got hit by Tom, when she even lay on the ground.
Injuries on the ear, on the shoulder and in the face, Perrine claimed to have at that time, with the emergency service she was taken to the hospital.
Perrine: Fairness is important! I just want, that the court says “Tom Kaulitz is at fault!”
For the band this case represents unlike that indeed. Perrine and her 3 french friend, who also call themselves “Les Afghanes On Tour” are alleged to stalk Tokio Hotel for months, made their lifes really a living hell. When Perrine allegedly put a cigarette out on Tom’s car, he lost his nerves. Later the girls also were alleged to threaten Bill’s and Tom’s mother.
Tom: That had absolutely nothing to do with fans, they were just people, who are… yeah, extremely disturbed.
Perrine’s lawyer doesn’t want to accept that.
Lawyer: The band Tokio Hotel means that this would be Stalking, we always have denied it, and even if it would be so, it’s not a criminal act, because the band, who is a world-famous band, has to accept much more than like a musician, who nearly no one knows.
In the worst case Tom are threaten up to 5 years in prison, which is very unlikely according to lawyer Benecken. His client wants an apology above all. Tom’s manager wasn’t within reach today, but he said to the BILD-paper, the way things stand at the moment, there won’t be any process.

INTERVIEW; 07.12.09 Bravo Web TV - Bill Kaulitz

INTERVIEW; 07.12.09 Bravo Web TV - Bill Kaulitz

Hey, good afternoon, the Nicholas is already away, in return I’m here now and Christmas is also soon, meaning everything goes very quickly, and for Nora, a BRAVO-Winner, Christmas was actually already. She was allowed to meet Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel, she’s a huge fan and had won a role in the animation movie “Arthur und die Minimoys”. And she was allowed to synchronize a tiny tiny role and Bill Kaulitz just joined in and talked with her, as professional – because he’s synchronizing Arthur – what she has to do, what’s going on there and so on.. And I just filmed that and brought that along to you guys. Have fun!
Bill: Hello, this Bill from Tokio Hotel and I’m standing here with the winner – Nora! And I’m explaining her, well, explaining sounds a bit silly, because I’m also not a professional on that score… We’re talking a bit about the synchronizing at “Arthur und die Minimoys” and Nora certainly made a really great job and… I also took pains and we’re just talking a bit about that.
Bill: Did you have to laugh as well?
Nora: Yes, I had to laugh.
Bill: Okay, that’s the heaviest, I also had to laugh this time. And I think all those emotions are really difficult, this laughing and crying and so on are very difficult, but you don’t had to cry?
Nora: No, I don’t had to cry.
Bill: Did you have much to synchronize? No, right?
Nora: No, it could have been worse. It took about five hours.
Bill: But laughing is really the heaviest. I think if you just say the text, then it’s okay, but… And you had fun?
Nora: Yeah…
Bill: Was that loud enough?!
Hi!
Max: Cheers! To your brilliant appearance!
Bill: Max, I don’t have time for a drink now, I’ve got a message! The minimoys are in danger!
Sascha: How do you like it so far?
Nora: Super! Everything’s great.
Sascha: Is he nice or is he mean?
Nora: He’s totally nice!!!
Sascha: Really?
Nora: Yeah.
Bill: I’m absolutely evil in fact! They all say that just in front of the camera!

You can watch the video Here!!!
